Alert Director

EEMUA and the ASM Consortium® recommend the use of task reminders and notifications of non-critical operating conditions as a best practice. Absent this functionality, operations often uses control system alarms to achieve this capability, which leads to alarm flooding and operator error. The ANSI/ISA-18.2 standard indicates that the alarm system should be reserved for items meeting the definition of an alarm. Alert Director supplements a well-managed alarm system by eliminating this need to configure unnecessary alarms.
 
Alert Director is also useful to other departments within a plant including Engineering, Maintenance, and Plant Management. It can be used to notify these departments of system events, such as tank levels, unit trips, and any other process conditions.

  • Data collection from control systems via OPC DA
  • Alerts can be acknowledged, suspended, edited, reactivated, filtered, and sorted
