PAS Appoints President and Chief Operating Officer, Building on 2005 Success & Customer Growth

Houston, TX - October 12, 2005

PAS, a leading provider of advanced automation solutions, announced today that Roland Heersink, co-founder and CEO of Industrial Evolution, has joined as a managing partner assuming the position of President and Chief Operating Officer effective immediately.

Mr. Heersink brings a wealth of experience in technical, international and executive leadership to the Company, including over 20 years with advanced software and information system applications in the process industries. Most recently, Roland co-founded Industrial Evolution as an OSIsoft equity partner, defining and building a new market for real-time collaboration between operating plants and their customers or suppliers. Under his leadership, Industrial Evolution grew to serve the data sharing needs of over 300 companies world-wide, with its strongest focus in the oil & gas and chemicals markets. Prior to this, Mr. Heersink held various executive positions at Honeywell in both Europe and North America, where he helped build and lead the Hi-Spec Solutions business into a $150 million-plus operation.

Complementing the PAS management team, Mr. Heersink's broad executive experience - in both successful start-ups like Industrial Evolution and Fortune 50 businesses like Honeywell - brings the talent and drive necessary to help PAS sustain its industry leadership position and continue its growth momentum. Mr. Heersink's extensive automation and software experience will help PAS better capitalize its comprehensive solutions for plant optimization and reliability in the marketplace. Mr. Heersink is a chemical engineer and holds a graduate degree from Caltech.
